Girls Get Pet Rats for Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas morning! The kids got us up at about 6:00am even though we told them 6:30 was what we had in mind. Santa visited our house. He left ruts in my yard with his sleigh. It must have been a rough landing because there was also some sleigh bells and an elf hat scattered in the yard. The kids always leave carrots outside for the reindeer so of course we have reindeer manure to shovel this morning!

The kids seem very happy with the things they got. The girls are in love with their pet rats. Logen is jetting up and down on the street on his new bike. And all of us are enjoying the new Wii.

Homeschool Group Christmas Party

Today we met up with our wonderful friends from our homeschool group for a little Christmas party. We started out with a sing-along. All of the kids that the piano took a turn playing for us while we sang our favorite Christmas songs.

Logen and a few of the younger boys had a lot of fun watching the
Polar Express go around and around the table.

Each of the children brought a small gift to exchange. We piled the gifts in the middle of the room, and then the children passed an ornament until the music stopped. The one left holding the ornament got to choose a gift from the pile.

While we were busy watching the children open gifts these two were sneaking cookies from the table. Here they are with their "loot". Sweet little Emery ate the hershey kisses from the tops of the peanut butter cookies....the evidence is on her face.

We finished up the afternoon with some yummy cookies and some great hot chocolate.
All of the kids had a great time with their friends!.

Cub Scout Christmas Crafting

Thanks to the great idea I picked up from my friend Pam I was able to make these super simple wreaths with the cub scouts.



The boys had a good time chatting while they tied the bags on to their coat hangers.




When they finished I had some gift bags and tissue paper for them to wrap up their gifts.....hopefully they will give them as a gift to their mothers.

These wreaths were made from simple wire coat hangers with sandwich baggies tied on in a simple knot. We dressed them up with a bow and they were ready to hang. It was surprising how good they looked considering how cheap it was to make. The boys were very proud of their creations! Thanks a BUNCH Pam!!

On Monday night we went to the ice rink to spend some time together.

See You Next Year, Doc!

Just a quick update...

I saw the doctor yesterday. He went over the CT report with me. It sounded pretty good. It is almost cleared. He put me on 30 days of oral antibiotics, and wants to see me back at the end of January. We will be playing the wait and see game for a while. I guess abscesses have the potential to re-fill and become infected again. He said I will be following up with him several times over the next year.

I feel pretty darn good though. I have so much more energy. I will be very happy to finally be done with all of the medication.
