You scream. I scream. We all scream for ice cream!!
Well, Hayden does anyway. On Thursday Hayden went under the knife and had her tonsills and adenoids removed. She has snored since she was a baby, and the last couple of years they have been causing her some sleep disruptions and apnea issues.
On Thursday she was a model patient. She had a new coloring book and a TV in her pre-op room. She calmly allowed the nurse to place her IV before surgery. We talked with the doctor and nurses and the anesthesiologist. When time came for them to wheel her off they gave her some "happy juice" in her IV. She was so out of it and giggily.
The surgery only took about 30 minutes, and they took me back to her quickly in recovery. She was not too happy for about half an hour, but then she was drinking juice and eating a popsicle. They discharged her the same day.
Her first night a home was a little rough and she was having some apnea issues due to the swelling. I contemplated taking her back to the hospital. It was a rough night, but by about 5am she was starting to rest more soundly. Last night was a lot better. For the first time in forever she slept without snoring. I will be so happy for her when she is sleeping soundly.
